Mr. U Jefferson Jr. was driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse GS.
Mr. Jefferson was observed to be asleep at the wheel of his vehicle, stopped in the roadway.
Detective Salomon, the driver of a Clayton County Police Departmental patrol vehicle, attempted to wake Mr. Jefferson.
Mr. Jefferson’s vehicle then began moving forward and his front left fender struck the police vehicle’s front end.
Minor damage was caused to both vehicles, which were both removed by their respective drivers.
The weather was and surface conditions were good, and the light was dark: lighted.
The accident was reported in Jonesboro, Clayton County.
