On April 25, 2021 Officer C.J. Needham was called to the scene of an accident at the intersection of Hammond Drive and Lorell Terrace.
Mr. M. Farmer was walking northbound across Hammond Drive when a Chevrolet 4D driven by Ms. Dominique Houston struck both Mr. Farmer and his dog. Both Mr. Farmer and his dog were thrown up onto and over the roof, landing over 100 feet from area of impact.
Ms. Houston Farmer fled the scene at high speed.
Mr. Farmer was transported to North Fulton Hospital but died of his injuries.
She was later identified and charged in terms of O.C.G.A. 40-6-270 “Hit and run; duty of driver to stop at or return to scene of accident” and O/C.G.A. 40-6-393A “Homicide by Vehicle”.
The weather, road surface and light conditions were all good.
The accident was reported by the Sandy Springs Police Department.
